RHF Positions:

Executive Board Officers
  • Must be a full-time student as defined by the University,
  • Must not be on active conduct sanction of probation or higher,
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 2.5 at the time of election and throughout their term in office,
  • Must live in a University residence hall managed by Housing and Residence Life during their term of office, excluding vacations and summer months,
  • Must not be employed by Housing and Residence Life as either a Resident Advisor, House Supervisor, Senior Resident Advisor, or Hall Director,
  • Must not simultaneously hold positions on the Executive Board and Hall Council during term,
  • Must not simultaneously hold positions on the Executive Board and the National Residence Hall Honorary Executive Board,
  • Must be able to serve in full capacity for the academic year at the time of their election.
All Executive Board Officers shall:
  • Assist fellow Executive Board Officers with their duties and responsibilities.
  • Decide on fundraising bids by Executive Decision.
The President shall:
  • Serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Residence Hall Federation, hereafter referred to as RHF, overseeing its external affairs, operations, and all activities.
  • Preside over all meetings of the Executive Board and Executive Officers, voting only in the case of a tie.
  • Represent RHF to the Student Government House of Representatives, Commission on Student Affairs, the University, and the outside community including serving on ad hoc committees as needed by the University.
  • Serve as the RHF representative to the National Residence Hall Honorary, hereafter referred to as NRHH.
  • Serve as the RHF representative to Housing and Residence Life, meeting regularly with the director.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with other organizations and university administration.
  • Preside over the Presidents Committee consisting of all Hall Council Presidents.
  • Participate in all General Assembly meetings, voting only in the case of a tie of the Executive Board.
  • Work with the Advisor(s) to plan various training sessions.
  • Chair any related ad hoc committees.
  • Meet bi-weekly with RHF Advisor.
  • Serve four posted weekly office hours in the RHF office.
The Vice President of Membership and Legislation shall:
  • Chair all RHF General Assembly meetings.
  • Serve as Parliamentarian, maintaining order at General Assembly meetings.
  • Publicize, coordinate, and conduct fair and efficient RHF and Hall Council elections.
  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of the RHF President in the absence or incapacity of the President, or if the office of President is vacant, until a special election can be called to fill the position.
  • Handle the internal affairs of RHF, coordinating constitution creation and amendments and all other legislative efforts.
  • Research and implement on-going leadership development opportunities for all RHF active members.
  • Maintain all RHF listservs and email groups.
  • Chair any related ad hoc committees.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the RHF Advisor.
  • Serve five posted weekly office hours in the RHF office.
The Vice President of Finance and Administration shall:
  • Work with the Advisor to develop a budget for RHF and present it to the Director of Housing and Residence Life on a monthly basis.
  • Research budgetary patterns and deficiencies affecting RHF.
  • Provide a monthly budget report at Executive meetings.
  • Attend purchasing and fundraising training.
  • Coordinate fundraising processes.
  • Be responsible for the office management and correspondence concerning RHF activities and functions.
  • Ensure that all state and RHF equipment are inventoried and secured.
  • Maintain the resource request system.
  • Serve as the RHF representative at Student Budget Board.
  • Preside over the Financial Committee consisting of all Hall Council Directors of Finance.
  • Chair any related ad hoc committees.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the RHF Advisor.
  • Serve five posted weekly office hours in the RHF office.
The National Communications Coordinator shall:
  • Coordinate all preparation responsibilities, delegation efforts, and any additional tasks leading up to conference attendance and participation hosted by the state, regional, and national affiliates, with the exception of funds handling.
  • Maintain yearly registration with NACURH in conjunction with NRHH.
  • Attend and serve as the voting delegate at all state, regional, and national conferences.
  • Submit a yearly National Information Center report in conjunction with NRHH.
  • Preside over Bid Committee consisting of voluntary Hall Council representatives.
  • Be knowledgeable in the use of Parliamentary Procedure and Robert’s Rules of Order and be able to assist in its implementation when necessary.
  • Record minutes of the Executive Board and the General Assembly meetings and distribute them within 48 hours of said meeting.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the RHF Advisor.
  • Serve five posted weekly office hours in the RHF office.
The Director of Outreach shall:
  • Research opportunities and organizations for RHF to sponsor at the campus and community level.
  • Coordinate with RHF Advisor(s) and vendors to create, renew, and uphold contracts.
  • Coordinate publicity efforts and marketing campaigns including the summer mailing.
  • Communicate with media relations about upcoming events or efforts.
  • Construct and maintain the RHF web page and social media efforts.
  • Preside over the Facilities Committee consisting of volunteer Hall Council representatives.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the RHF Advisor.
  • Serve five posted weekly office hours in the RHF office.
The Director of Programming shall:
  • Coordinate and create educational, social, recreational, cultural, and scholastic events.
  • Coordinate Homecoming and Family Weekend activities and all other campus wide programming sponsored by RHF.
  • Preside over the Programming Committee consisting of all Hall Council Directors of Programming.
  • Assist Hall Councils with planning and executing their events.
  • Research opportunities and organizations for RHF to collaborate and co-host programs with at the campus and community level.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the RHF Advisor.
  • Serve five posted weekly office hours in the RHF office.
